Grand Rapids, Michigan
A gathering place for those walking the contemplative journey — together.
Join usWho we are
The spiritual life is life is not an individual endeavor. We grow and are transformed most effectively in community.
Contemplative West Michigan is a community for those drawn to the deeper dimensions of the spiritual life — contemplative reading, centering prayer, silence, and the slow work of inner transformation.
We gather monthly for communal reflection, support, and practice. Whether you've been on this path for decades or are just beginning to sense its pull, you are welcome here.
Our meetings
We will meet monthly at a time to be determined.
Each monthly gathering weaves together three strands: reflection, discussion, and practice.
A book discussion or short talk exploring a contemplative theme — from the Desert Fathers to contemporary teachers like Thomas Keating or Cynthia Bourgeault.
Time for discussion and conversation, sharing the joys and struggles of the inner life, and the simple gift of being in community with others who understand the journey.
A shared period of centering prayer or similar contemplative practice — sitting together in the silence that is beyond words, resting in God's presence.
Where we meet
We are grateful to partner with the Dominican Center for Spirituality in Grand Rapids. The Center brings a deep tradition of contemplative practice, a trusted reputation in the spiritual community, and a beautiful, intimate space for gatherings.
